Dr. Hollie Stillwell is originally from Narragansett, Rhode Island. She is the managing partner of OSEA and enjoys many aspects of equine medicine. Dr. Stillwell does have a special interest in equine reproduction. In her treasured spare time, she enjoys surfing, gardening, snowboarding and just hanging around with her husband, Enda, and sons, Cathal and Daire.
Dr. Enda Currid was born in the northwest region of Ireland and graduated from the University College Dublin School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. After a one-year internship in Large Animal Surgery at U.C. Dublin in 1995, he moved to the United States to begin a three-year residency in Large Animal Surgery at Tufts University in Grafton
Dr. Enda Currid was born in the northwest region of Ireland and graduated from the University College Dublin School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. After a one-year internship in Large Animal Surgery at U.C. Dublin in 1995, he moved to the United States to begin a three-year residency in Large Animal Surgery at Tufts University in Grafton, Massachusetts. Dr. Currid joined the practice in 1998. He and his wife purchased the practice in 2001. He is the staff surgeon and his special interests are lameness and sports medicine. He is currently working toward accreditation with the International Society for Equine Locomotor Pathology (ISELP). Though time is limited, Dr. Currid enjoys hiking, fishing, snowboarding with his wife, and spending time with his sons, Cathal and Daire.

Dr. Skiffington developed her passion for veterinary medicine when she was a kid on the backside at the racetrack. She attended St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in which she spent her clinical year at Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Skiffington completed a one-year internship at Ocean State Equine and continued as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Skiffington has a special interest in lacerations, respiratory medicine, and diagnostic imaging. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, baking, and watching movies.

After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of New Hampshire, she continued to Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine for her veterinary education. After graduating from veterinary school, she completed a one-year internship at Ocean State Equine Associates. Following her internship, she practiced at an equine ambulatory practice until returning to Ocean State Equine Associates. Dr. Frazier has a special interest in equine dentistry and geriatric care. In her free time, Dr. Frazier enjoys spending time with her horse, PA, and dog, Nessie.

Dr. Alex Catalano is originally from Pelham, New Hampshire. Dr. Catalano began riding at a young age and spent many of her teenage years as a working student at a dressage facility in Massachusetts. After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of New Hampshire (where she met Dr. Frazier!), she attended veterinary school at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. After graduation, Dr. Catalano completed a rotating internship at Rhinebeck Equine. Following her internship, she practiced at an equine clinic in New Hampshire until joining the OSEA team. Dr. Catalano has special interests in sports medicine, preventative care, and emergency medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Catalano enjoys spending time on Cape Cod with family, watching horse racing, outdoor sports, and riding her Quarter Horse gelding “Jyote”.

She fell in love with animals, particularly horses at an early age and has followed that passion through school. She fell in love with animals, particularly horses at an early age and has followed that passion through school. Dr. Calitri attended the University of Rhode Island for her undergraduate degree then continued to The Atlantic Veterinary College for her doctorate. She completed a one-year internship focusing on primary care and ambulatory medicine in upstate New York and is thrilled to return to the region. Dr. Calitri is excited to continue her learning through the Lameness and Sports Medicine Fellowship with Dr. Currid when she is not seeing emergencies.

Dr. Guillermo Cardona is originally from Bogotá, Colombia. He came to the states and completed a sports medicine internship in Ocala, Florida while getting his license to work as a Veterinarian in the US, after acquiring his license he worked in Ocala for 2 years with a heavy emphasis in lameness, diagnostic imaging, and rehabilitation. He became a Certified Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner with the University of Tennessee in 2018. Pursuing his dream to become an equine surgeon he did an internship at the New Bolton Center increasing his experience as a clinician. That led him to be selected for a Large Animal Surgery Residency at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital where he finalized his surgical training. He is now a great addition to our practice and is performing elective surgeries, special procedures and sports medicine/lameness evaluations. In his spare time he enjoys watching sports, especially soccer and hiking with his adventurous cats, Cucumber and Otello.

John is part of our front office staff. He is a native Rhode Islander, he grew up riding in the Hunter/Equitation discipline. After graduating High School he went on to be a working student at several facilities in Ocala, FL, and Ontario, Canada. He has also started riding again after a decade out of the saddle with several co-workers. He’s hoping to do some Hunter Paces and low-level competing at some point. John spends most of his time outside of work with his partner Paul and their adorable dog Teddy.

Sara is originally from Waitsfield Vermont. Sara has had a lifelong love of horses. Working from an early age at a local farm caring for horses, Sara eventually began teaching lessons for both adults and kids. She was a competitive junior rider, competing in Hunter/Jumper shows through high School. During college, Sara spent her summers in Vermont working polo ponies and volunteering with the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps.
After graduating from the University of Maine with a degree in Natural Field History and Ecology, Sara moved to New Hampshire and started working for the state of Massachusetts, Office of Environmental Affairs, focusing on community outreach programs. Sara’s next adventure brought her to Texas, where she spent time raising her two children and returned to teaching lessons and barn management.
While in Texas, she was an active board member and president of a local horse trail association, supporting community programs and conversation. In 2022, missing all that New England had to offer, Sara and her family including two dogs, a pet cockatiel, two horses and CC the donkey moved back to the north east settling in Rhode Island. When not at Ocean State Equine, Sara can be found riding her horses and camping at any number of the beautiful state parks.

She grew up in Attleboro, MA, and attended Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre where she studied equine training, riding instruction, and equine husbandry. She grew up riding in all different rings; hunters, jumpers, eventing, dressage, and always enjoyed working with young horses. After school, she took a few years working independently running a boarding facility, training and starting difficult/young horses, and teaching lessons. She has been working as a technician now since 2017 and loves her job! In her free time, she likes spending time with her husband, horse, dog, and cat.

She worked as a small animal technician before coming to Ocean state where she could for fill her passion to work with horses. In her time off she enjoys riding with her daughter Alayna, hiking, and spending time with family.
Kayla is from Sterling, CT, and has been an avid equestrian since the age of 12. She grew up trail riding as a kid and riding hunter/jumpers as a young adult. She spends her free time with her Thoroughbred gelding, Rocco, and her German shepherd, Lexi. On the side, Kayla also does pet sitting and animal care. Her passion for animals far surpasses just the equine variety. When she’s not spending time with her pets, she is hanging out with her friends, hiking, and going out for fun adventures.

Brieann is a 2022 graduate of Ponaganset High School‘s Animal Science Program. Growing up on her family’s horse farm in Foster, Rhode Island, she is a life-long equestrian. She started riding and showing at the age of two. Raised with an appreciation for the versatility of horses, she has competed in many disciplines: including hunters, jumpers, saddle seat and western speed events. Brieann has worked alongside her grandmother, keeping school horses healthy and sound, handling young horses and assisting with lessons for able-bodied and special needs students. An active 4-H member since age seven, Brieann has represented Rhode Island three times as an exhibitor at the New England 4-H Horse Show at Eastern States Exposition and as a competitor at the Northeast Horse Knowledge Contest. Brieann feels blessed to have the opportunity to learn from the talented group of veterinarians at OSEA. She enjoys the variety of challenges presented every day on the road, and embraces the philosophy of client education. Brieann’s current mounts include: Thrillionaire, an eight-year-old American Saddlebred gelding and Mystic Memory, a nine-year-old Canadian OTTB mare. When she is not riding or showing, she spends her spare time riding dirt bikes and playing with her two dogs, Daisy and Lucy.
Lauren is a lifelong equestrian originally from New Jersey. She got her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she majored in Pre-Vet. She is taking some time off prior to enrolling into Vet School to gain more knowledge in veterinary care and sciences of Large Animal/Equine. In her free time, she can be found hanging out with her two cats: Duck and Goose.

Claudia is a Chilean veterinarian who graduated in 2019. She has been working with Thoroughbred horses in one of the most important horse racetracks in Chile, while at the same time working independently with Chilean purebred horses. In her permanent effort to grow as a professional, Claudia made the decision to follow a career path in the U.S., which led her to meet the incredible team at OSEA in 2023, becoming part of the surgery team in 2024. She loves to travel with her camera and there are many places she would like to visit around Rhode Island.
Deb is our Facility Manager and works alongside Julie. She was raised in Rhode Island and is local to North Scituate. Debbie has a farming background and has been around horses and animals since she was a child. When Debbie is not at the farm or running her own business, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Julie is our Patient Care Manager originally from Cumberland, Rhode Island whose love of horses began at the age of five. While growing up, she spent all of her free time as the quintessential “barn rat”, running around numerous facilities, absorbing any information while growing her skill as a horsewoman. Her riding career focused mostly on the Hunter/Jumper rings until transitioning into Western Pleasure before leaving for college. Julie attended the University of Findlay in Ohio where she double majored in Western Equestrian Studies with an emphasis in Riding & Training and Business Management. While at Findlay, she was part of the Western IHSA Team, had several internships training colts, and worked at the Quarter Horse Congress. With these opportunities, Julie found a passion for starting colts and teaching lessons. Since returning to the East Coast, she finds herself working numerous horse shows, strengthening herself at the gym, spending time with friends, and of course, giving much love and attention to her pit rescue, Jane.
Mickey is the Superintendent of Pest Control at our farm on Winsor Avenue in North Scituate, Rhode Island. He also serves on the board of directors for the CEM quarantine welcoming committee.
