Internal Medicine
Ocean State Equine Associates' veterinarians are your partners in quality care for your horse. In the event that your horse becomes ill or has ongoing health problems that require consistent management, the dedicated and experienced equine veterinarians at OSEA are prepared to guide you and your horse through the process. A thorough history and physical examination are imperative in order for your veterinarian to be able to recommend appropriate diagnostic tests and treatment protocols. OSEA has in-house laboratory capabilities and we are able to offer the following diagnostic tests at our facility: Hematology (complete blood count or “CBC”, serum chemistry panel analysis), serum amyloid A (SAA) testing, urinalysis, microscopy, and fecal sample analysis. Additionally, we routinely submit diagnostic samples to outside laboratories with rapid turnaround time.

- Gastroscopy
- Upper and lower respiratory tract endoscopy
- Ultrasonography of the thorax and abdomen
- Reproductive ultrasound
- Digital Radiography
- Ophthalmology
- Consultation with Dr. Alison Clode, a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist (DACVO), is available on an as-needed basis.
- Neurologic examinations
- Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) collection for analysis
- Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL)
- Trans-tracheal wash (TTW)
- Nutritional consultation
- Serum allergy testing
